Abstract
This research examines the phenomenon of separatism in the example of the organization «Los Macheteros», whose main purpose was to fight for the independence of Puerto Rico from the United States. According to the made research armed struggle performed by separatist organization Los Macheteros is organized to attract attention of world community to the problem of undefined status of Puerto Rico, to the problems of puertoricans whose rights are violated.
